We haven’t had any boys attend netball club this term and therefore we weren’t aware that any boys were keen to play. Due to the fact that this activity isn’t offered to the boys in their PE lessons or Games sessions, and nobody has attended the after-school club then we aren’t in a position to select students for fixtures in sports where they aren’t familiar with the rules and skills required in competitive fixtures.
The girls that have been selected for the football team both attend school training every week and have also done football in their Games sessions. During these slots they have demonstrated the required knowledge of the game and skills needed to represent the school and therefore have been selected on merit.
If you would like to know more about Netball, please see one of the PE staff and they will be happy to discuss this and any opportunities with you.
